Experienced Care, Personalized Approach
Dr. Irene Yu Yan Cheng is a licensed clinical psychologist in New York with nearly a decade of experience working across diverse clinical settings and populations. She earned her doctorate in psychology from Yeshiva University’s Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology in 2014 and has since built a practice grounded in evidence-based care and meaningful therapeutic relationships.
Her approach is holistic and integrative, combining Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and psychodynamic principles. She also incorporates mindfulness and humanistic practices, tailoring each session to meet the unique goals and needs of her clients. With a strong multicultural lens, Dr. Cheng fosters a safe, supportive, and collaborative space where clients can grow, heal, and thrive.
All services are offered virtually, providing flexible and accessible care designed to meet you where you are.
Each service is tailored to your individual goals, with a focus on creating a supportive and transparent therapeutic experience.
My Services:
Consultation
Begin with a free 15–20 minute phone consultation to discuss your questions, concerns, and therapy goals. This initial conversation helps ensure a good therapist-client fit and gives you clarity on how the practice can support your needs.

Individual Therapy
Individual therapy sessions are tailored using an integrative approach that blends CBT, DBT, ACT, psychodynamic theory, and mindfulness practices. Sessions provide a safe, open, and supportive space to work toward your goals, whether short-term or long-term, with flexible scheduling based on your needs.

Couples Therapy
Couples therapy offers a structured and supportive environment to explore relationship dynamics and challenges. Using Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method, sessions focus on improving communication, understanding emotions, and strengthening connection and relationship health.
